Founded as the Neurosurgical Anaesthetists' Travelling Club in 1965, the Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care Society (NACCS) has the objective of the advancement of education for the public benefit in the science of Neuroanaesthesia and neuro critical care. It now has nearly 500 members with about a 1/5 being anaesthetists in training. It aims to provides an educational platform for specialists in anaesthesia and critical care who have specialist interest in neurological trauma, surgery and disease as well as offering education for those with occasional interaction with this area of medicine.

With the evolution of anaesthesia and critical care training in the UK, NACCS provides an extensive portfolio of educational resources to support those wishing to advance their training in Neuroanaesthesia and critical care. It offers members the opportunity to perform national surveys in the field.

We also provide support to members who wish to undertake training opportunities outside of their place of work and also offers educational and travel grants. In addition to this, the society contributes to the NIAA research grant portfolio NACCS works with other professional specialist societies to share specialist insight into areas such as Obstetric Anaesthesia (OAA).
